 Join us for an enlightening evening on Monday, October 16th, from 5:30 to 8:30 PM at the Posner Center, hosted by the Young Professionals Committee of Denver Council on Foreign Relations.

As the first event of our Global Insights = Local Results series, this panel will delve into the critical theme of Climate Change Leadership Globally. Explore policy approaches implemented by countries worldwide, aiming to find ideas and lessons learned that can be adopted right here in Colorado. Our focus is on mitigating the effects of climate change through informed and actionable strategies.

Moderator: Bart Alexander: Leadership consultant for corporate leaders, sustainability executives, and teams; founder of Alexander & Associates LLC 

Panelists: 

  • Jerry Tinianow: Founder of Western Urban Sustainability Advisors; focuses on helping local governments create and improve sustainability and climate action programs

  • Paul Sutton:Professor at DU's Department of Geography and the Environment focusing on sustainability science, ecological economics, and population geography

  • Mike Smith: Founder of Aclymate & RenewWest, seeking carbon neutrality through efforts such as developing the largest single carbon-focused reforestation project in the U.S. 

  • Sharon Jaye: Building Performance Policy Manager at City and County of Denver
